About Us
Montana Mobile Processing Company was formed to bring humane harvest of cattle, hogs, lamb and bison to the ranch where animals are at ease.  Less stress means better meat.

MMPC hopes to increase local food consumption in Western Montana by providing more local beef to local consumers. Processing is a bottleneck here and a mobile harvest unit can save fuel and time for transport to and from the slaughterhouse, smooth out scheduling times and hang and age the beef.
Not so long ago, everyone ate "local food."  There were eggs in the hen house, milk was delivered daily.  The garden provided a summer bounty and there was enough to put up for the winter.  Meat was fresh from the local butcher, which came from a ranch nearby.  Beef, pork, lamb --- all were raised in the area and you knew the producers.  The food was clean fresh and safe.

Nowadays, most of our food comes from the supermarket. There are foods from all over the world  and the selection is impressive and diverse.  The meat in the market could be from Chile or New Zealand, or it could be from Montana or North Carolina.

Today, the trend is toward a more local approach to food - consumers want to know their food, who grew, it, how far it travels.  They expect fresh, safe, local food.  Local processing is one way to help insure that the consumers know where their food comes from.  On the ranch harvest is as local as you can get.
